Overview

Situated along the scenic Cebu Transcentral Highway, La Tegola Busay offers an authentic Italian dining experience set against a breathtaking city view. This restaurant has carved a niche for itself by blending traditional Italian flavors with a tranquil ambiance, ideal for quiet evenings with friends, family, or loved ones.

The highlight on their menu is the Caruso, a unique selection featuring five different types of pasta, each paired with its own distinct sauce, showcasing the chefs’ dedication to diverse Italian culinary traditions. Another must-try is their Focaccia, notably the “My Last Piece,” praised by patrons for its fresh, flavorful texture that recalls classic Italian bread-making. Complementing these are dishes like the Spaghetti Al Cartoccio Marinara and Scallopa Al Funghi, both offering rich, authentic tastes that transport diners straight to Italy’s coasts and countryside.

La Tegola Busay is also known for its inviting atmosphere—the combination of a cozy interior and sweeping city views creates a romantic and relaxed setting that appeals to couples and intimate gatherings. The space encourages lingering over meals while soaking in the panoramic lights below, making each visit memorable beyond just the food.

Despite some differing opinions on service quality, many guests acknowledge the staff’s friendliness and accommodation. Their flexibility with credit card payments adds convenience, especially in a location where this isn’t always common. Getting to La Tegola is part of the experience, with local transport options such as the “habal-habal” motorbike providing an easy and adventurous route up to Busay.

Overall, La Tegola Busay stands out not only for its culinary authenticity and menu variety but also for merging scenic surroundings with a warm, inviting environment. It caters well to those seeking genuine Italian dishes in a setting that encourages conversation and relaxation, making it a worthy destination for both locals and visitors exploring Cebu’s dining scene.

The service is excellent. The staff is so accomodating. Price is so affordable and the food is better than the 5-star resort and spa in mactan. The grilled salmon is so big for its price. I love the spaghetti alla pescatora frutti de mare in olive oil. The overlooking view of the city is priceless. You can take the motorbike for hire known as "habal-habal" in jy square to la tegola busay for only Php 75.00

I don’t know if it’s just me but La Tegola has had a bad rep over the years for the quality or taste of their food declining. However, we decided to give this branch a shot since it had a nice, romantic view anyway. Needless to say, I really enjoyed our experience! The food was surprisingly very fresh and the taste was very Italian. It reminded me of my old favorite restaurant Idea Italia, which closed down long ago. The food was superb and the ambiance was great since it was just my boyfriend and I in the restaurant. Staff is also super friendly and they accept credit card payments unlike most restaurants in Busay.

Came here for lunch with family. The view is wonderful. Every dish we ordered was very good. Their Aglio Olio is the best! Totally worth the travel

Great food with a view. The temperature was nice up on the hill while it was sweltering in the city.

Beautiful scenic view of Cebu City over the mountains. Friendly and accommodating crew with all smiles to greet you. The place is clean and quiet. Parking is somehow just a little bit of the need for steering wheel maneuvering due to the parking size (space). We had an amazing meal. We had their Rissoto Con Ossobuco, and Penne Boscaiola, which I highly recommended for new customers to try. We also had two of their pizzas, the Quattro Formaggi, and Atomica. I don't recommend these pizzas due to their dough. It's like eating biscuits with pizza toppings. Nevertheless, the ambiance and other non-pizza dishes are authentically Italian. We will surely be back but not for pizza
